Why Teaching4Charity?
Every summer, our staff of highly accomplished and successful high school students leads a wide-ranging variety of courses. Our course offering includes: Public Speaking, Math, Chess, Coding Games, Arts and Crafts, and English!
Students can sign up for sessions of each course by scrolling down to find the course description and registration form! A session is held over the course of a week (Monday to Friday, 5 days total), 1 hour 30 minutes per day.
As accomplished students ourselves, we possess a unique knowledge of how to best address each student's needs in order to help them achieve success. Our goal as teachers is to distill and teach the most important principles from each course in order to pass on a foundational understanding and passion for each topic.

Course Costs: The first course the student takes is $100.
The second course the student takes is 20% off the original price.
The third course the students takes is 40% off.
The fourth course and so on is 60% off.
(This does not apply to Music Production.)

Public Speaking in the Professional World
Whether it's through business presentations, interviews, or networking, public speaking is one of the abilities most crucial to success in the professional world. Over the course of one week, students will be taught the basic fundamentals of public speaking. We will start by analyzing model public speakers and what makes them seem confident and persuasive. Throughout the week, we will be learning essential public speaking techniques and applying them to real-life scenarios such as presentations and interviews. By providing the opportunity to master and apply these techniques, this course will enable students to become more persuasive, confident, and successful.

Fundamentals of Coding-WESTEM
In the break-neck world of today, code shapes the reality around us, enables us to automate our daily lives, craft enticing experiences, and powers all of the most sophisticated algorithms on the planet. The story of a great software engineer always starts young: whether as a simple problem solver or a programming prodigy, it’s important to sow the seeds of strong problem decomposition and algorithmic thinking early. There is no better way to learn for any child than through play. Enrollees will create fun-to-play games as they learn the fundamentals of coding. This course will instill a passion for software development and critical thinking within them.

Intro to Sound Engineering and Production
In today’s digital world, the music industry along with careers in sound engineering and production are growing faster than ever. This two-week course will introduce students to a basic level of music production and sound engineering using industry-standard production and sound tools. Students will learn topics including core music theory, sampling, building beats, and experimenting with things like sound creation and manipulation. Whether working with virtual instruments or designing their own sounds, students will gain the technical and creative skills needed to produce a polished beat by the end of the course. No prior experience is needed except for a laptop and a passion for music.
*This course costs $125 because it is 2 hours a day.

Foundations of Mathematics; Introduction to Competition Math
Regardless of what career path one chooses, math is one of the most valued and in-demand skills out there. Over the course of a week, students will be introduced to the most crucial building blocks of advanced math, which will allow them to achieve notable success in both the classroom and the real world. Students will also be taught how to apply these mathematical principles to more complex, competition math problems, which will enable them to flourish in competitive math settings. By the end of this course, students will be armed with a foundational understanding of advanced math, enabling them to achieve success both inside and outside of the classroom.

Principles of Chess Strategy
For centuries, chess has been one of the most popular games in the world and continues to reign as one of the best tests of strategy and intellect. This step-by-step and interactive course will provide students with a fundamental understanding of chess strategy and allow them the opportunity to apply and practice their skills through extensive playing time. Whether students wish to play chess competitively or with friends and family, this course will enable them to play on a more advanced level through a heightened understanding of chess mechanics.

Arts and Crafts
Hands-on-learning throughout childhood is one of the best ways to fine tune motor skills in children. This Arts and Crafts course provides interactive, fun activities for children to make, keeping them entertained. Each day, students will be provided with a new craft that helps them learn basic skills: how to use scissors, clean up messes, and how to persevere through difficult steps within the craft.

Principles of Essay Writing
Regardless of what path one chooses in life, writing and reading skills are crucial to effective communication and professional success. In this one-week course, students will become stronger writers by studying mentor texts, writing their own personal narratives, and receiving personalized feedback. They will also work on grammar exercises to improve the technical aspect of writing while focusing on applying discussed techniques to their own essays to achieve a final, polished piece. This course will provide students with a mastery of foundational reading comprehension and writing, thus enhancing their most critical communication skills.
