Course Overview:
Over five days, you'll delve into key topics that form the backbone of AP Physics 1, with each day dedicated to mastering specific concepts and applications. Here's a detailed look at our curriculum:
🍎Day 1: Introduction to Kinematics
- Concepts of displacement, velocity, and acceleration
- Understanding scalars and vectors
- Exploring the relationships between displacement, velocity, and acceleration
🍎Day 2: Kinematic Equations
- Introduction to kinematic equations
- Interpreting kinematic graphs
- Applying kinematic equations to solve problems
🍎Day 3: Free Fall
- Understanding the principles of free fall
- Analyzing free fall motion and its equations
🍎Day 4: Vector Addition
- Mastering vector addition and the unit circle
- Basic trigonometry (sine, cosine, tangent, and inverse trig functions)
- Applying the Pythagorean theorem to calculate magnitudes
🍎Day 5: 2D Kinematics
- Exploring projectile motion
- Solving complex problems involving 2D kinematics

Meet Your Instructors:
Our instructors are passionate and accomplished students with extensive experience in physics:
- Eric Guo is a rising senior at Livingston High School who scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam and earned an A in AP Physics 2. He plans to take AP Physics C: E/M as a senior. He is the co-founder and co-president of the Livingston High School Physics Club. Additionally, he developed two physics-related computer programs on kinematics and momentum.
- James Li is a rising senior at Chatham High School who scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam and has taken both AP Physics C exams. Furthermore, he actively participates in math competitions, using math to deepen his understanding of physics.
- Alex Yang is a rising senior at Livingston High School who scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam and earned an A in AP Physics 2. He plans to take AP Physics C: Mechanics as a senior. He is also the co-founder and co-president of the LHS Rocketry Club, and coordinated the club’s inaugural community launch, teaching kids to build and launch rockets.
