Course Overview:

Our structured course spans five days, each filled with valuable lessons and interactive playtime. Here’s what you’ll learn:

🎯Day 1: Chess Fundamentals

• A thorough review of the rules of chess and an introduction to chess notation. This foundational knowledge ensures you start on the right foot.

🎯Day 2: Mastering the Opening

• Learn the principles of effective chess openings and discover the Scholar’s Mate, a classic and powerful opening strategy.

🎯Day 3: Tactics and Simple Checkmates

• Explore essential tactics and straightforward checkmating techniques to enhance your gameplay and strategic foresight.

🎯Day 4: Endgame Mastery

• Delve into endgame strategies and critical checkmating patterns to secure your victories even when the board has few pieces left.

🎯Day 5: Advanced Chess Concepts

• Gain insights into advanced topics such as king safety, formulating a game plan, and evaluating captures to outmaneuver your opponents.

Meet Your Instructors:

Our talented instructors are members of the Livingston High School Chess Team, the reigning New Jersey state champions. They bring a wealth of knowledge, competitive experience, and a passion for teaching:

• George Cui was the 2022 New Jersey Junior Varsity Chess Champion.
• Matt Ge placed third in the 1600-1699 rated section at the 2024 National Championships and is a Livingston High School Chess Team captain.
• Eric Guo was the 2023 New Jersey Junior Varsity Chess Champion and serves as the Livingston High School Chess Club president.
• Jerry Ji is self-taught, propelling himself to the top 10 in the New Jersey Junior Varsity section, with a USCF rating of 1100 and quickly rising.

These champions will provide in-depth game analysis and share valuable insights to help you improve rapidly.
