Our Arts and Crafts course provides a week of engaging, interactive activities designed to entertain and develop basic skills in children. Each day features a new craft that teaches essential skills such as using scissors, cleaning up messes, and persevering through challenging steps. Our focus is on creating a fun and educational environment where children can explore their creativity and enjoy the process of making something unique.
Course Overview:
Every day brings a new craft, ensuring that children remain excited and engaged throughout the week. Here’s what your child will experience:
🎨Day 1: Paper Bead Making
- Learn to create beautiful beads from paper, developing fine motor skills and patience.
🎨Day 2: Scratch Art and Bracelet Making
- Explore the fun of scratch art and the creativity of making personalized bracelets.
🎨Day 3: Card Making and Oobleck
- Combine artistic expression with a bit of science by creating personalized cards and playing with Oobleck, a fascinating non-Newtonian fluid.
🎨Day 4: Origami
- Dive into the world of paper folding with origami. Students are encouraged to bring their own devices if they wish to search for additional instructions online.
🎨Day 5: Paper Cutting and Paper Stars
- Learn the art of paper cutting and create stunning paper stars, honing precision and creativity.
Each day, you'll engage in interactive lessons and hands-on problem-solving sessions designed to solidify your understanding and application of these concepts.
Meet Your Instructors:
Our experienced and enthusiastic instructors are dedicated to making this a memorable and enriching experience for your children.
- With years of art experience, Amanda Zhong has participated in several art programs and numerous district and out-of-district art shows since elementary school. She has competed in art competitions and accumulated extensive experience in digital graphic design. Amanda has also volunteered extensively and served as a summer camp counselor. As a passionate painter, Amanda is excited to teach the Arts and Crafts course and work with various craft mediums.
- A rising junior at Livingston High School, Grace Wang has been teaching with Teaching4Charity for four years, including three years teaching Digital Art and one year teaching Arts and Crafts. She was a runner-up in the Scholastic Arts and Writing Competition last year and won a New York Times one-pager contest for her digital art skills. Grace enjoys working with children and has taught Sunday school classes and led the Children's Choir at her church.

- Session Dates: August 5 - August 9, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM; August 12 - August 16, 2 PM - 3 PM (This session will cost $30); August 19 - August 23, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
